Amazon just announced four new Kindle e-readers. The Colorsoft Signature Edition is the first color Kindle, there's a new Kindle Scribe notepad, a faster version of the most popular Paperwhite and a new entry-level Kindle.
The announcement in Spanish with US prices appears to be random as none of the links to the Amazon store are currently working. However, here's what we know.
Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is “designed to provide rich, paper-like color” for book covers and highlighted text. Images can be enlarged using both standard and vibrant color styles “without worrying about pixelation.” It's waterproof and features fast page turning, wireless charging, up to 8 weeks of battery life, and a new light guide with nitride LEDs. It costs $279.99 and ships on October 30th.
The new Kindle Scribe is an e-reader and note taker. The 300ppi screen features new white borders and feels like paper when writing with Amazon's premium pen with the new soft-tipped eraser.
In addition to note-taking, it also offers a “unique book-writing experience.” Active Canvas lets you add notes directly to the pages of a book and the text flows around them. Soon you will also be able to add notes in the side panel that can be hidden later. The built-in notebook is equipped with AI to summarize pages into concise points. Notes can also be made readable using a handwriting-style font in preparation for export.
The $399.99 Kindle Scribe will be ready for delivery on December 4th, with pre-orders starting today, the fraudulent announcement says.
According to Amazon, the Kindle Paperwhite is the “fastest Kindle yet.” The best-selling Kindle is rumored to have a larger 7-inch screen, making it thinner than previous generations and offering up to three months of battery life. It is waterproof and has 16GB of storage. Kindle Paperwhite is available “now” starting at $159.99. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is available for $199.99 with 32GB of storage and optional wireless charging and auto-adjusting frontlight.
The entry-level Kindle will also be available today starting at $109.99 and weighs just 5.6 ounces. It offers a 300ppi anti-glare screen with faster page turning and 16GB of storage that can easily be held in one hand or slipped into your back pocket.
We'll likely know more soon as details emerge, with links to actually purchase or pre-order the latest Kindles – so stay tuned.
