Anker has released its new Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro wireless earbuds, which feature improved noise cancellation and faster charging than their predecessors. But the most obvious change is the improved body, with a screen that lets you view battery life or adjust ANC settings without having to pick up your phone.
The Liberty 4 Pro is available now for $129.99, $20 cheaper than the $149.99 Soundcore Liberty 4 that launched in 2022 and $70 cheaper than that Previous version, the Liberty 3 Pro for $169.99 from 2021.
The screen added to the Liberty 4 Pro's charging case might be a welcome addition for those worried about battery, but it's not a new feature for wireless earbuds. JBL added a 1.45-inch touchscreen to the charging case of its Tour Pro 2 in 2023, which offered many features including playback controls, volume adjustment, EQ settings, and even notifications from a connected smartphone. The Liberty 4 Pro's screen is more limited, with a small touch bar underneath that can be swiped to adjust the ANC or activate transparency mode.
Anker says that when fully charged, the headphones alone will run for 10 hours with ANC off or 7.5 hours with ANC on. In conjunction with the charging case, the running time increases to 40 hours or, taking ANC into account, to 30 hours. When completely empty, a quick five-minute charge will revive the earbuds with four hours of playtime, while the case charges via USB-C or with a wireless charging pad.
The Liberty 4 Pro earbuds combine a 10.5-millimeter woofer with a smaller, titanium-coated 4.6-millimeter tweeter for overall improved sound reproduction, while ANC is powered by six microphones (three on each earbud) and an air pressure sensor, The changes take into account air pressure for improved performance on flights. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint connections and the SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs, although the latter can only be used in conjunction with an Android device.
Supports spatial audio with the ability to track the movements of your head, while the IPX5 rating means you can easily wear the Liberty 4 Pro in the rain or during a particularly sweaty workout. They're available now at Anker's online store and on Amazon in three color options: glossy black, white, and glossy light blue.
