Celebrity jet-tracking accounts disappear from Threads and Instagram

Jack Sweeney, who used his @ElonJet account on The closed accounts, which used publicly available data to display the flight paths of private jets, initially showed a message on Monday that read, “The link you followed may be broken or the page may have been removed.”

Sweeney said Meta provided no direct warning or explanation for the suspensions. The accounts were “blacked out and there were no opportunities to interact or obtain information.” In a statement about this TechCrunchHowever, an unnamed Meta spokesperson said: “Given the risk of physical harm to individuals and in line with the recommendation of the independent oversight board, we have disabled these accounts for violating our privacy policies.”
