An unboxing video shared on YouTube last week offers our first hands-on look at a new 140W wall charger from Anker. It appears to be the company's first device to feature a built-in display that shows how much power is being used by each of its four USB ports.
Earlier this month, leaked details and an image of the charger were shared by user joshuadwx on the Anchor subreddit. The Zolo wall charger is said to offer a maximum power of 140W, distributed across three USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. Two of its USB-C ports can charge devices at speeds of up to 140W when nothing else is connected, while the remaining USB-C and USB-A ports can deliver 40W and 33W of power, respectively.
At 350 grams, the additional screen results in a charger that is heavier than the company's existing four-port chargers, such as the smaller Anker 747 Charger (GaNPrime 150W), which also delivers more power.
The nine-minute unboxing video shared by Xiao Li TV seemingly confirms several features of the charger, including its 140W total power output, foldable prongs, Zolo branding, each port's power delivery capabilities, and the fact that on-screen a Pretty display shows sleeping face when no power is being used.
The video also confirms that all USB ports are on the downward-facing side of the Zolo. Anker has already addressed issues with heavy chargers struggling to stay plugged in by releasing redesigned versions with a center of gravity closer to the wall and textured prongs for greater grip.
Moving the connectors to the bottom of this charger may be another way to reduce the risk of it falling out of the socket on its own.
There's still no information on Anker's planned pricing for the Zolo charger or when it will launch globally and in the US, although the leaked video suggests it could launch soon.
