Nintendo is taking applications to join a mysterious Switch Online playtest

Nintendo is inviting people to apply to test a new feature for Nintendo Switch Online – but the company isn't specifying what feature it is.

Considering this company just released a gesture-controlled alarm clock, this could mean pretty much anything, up to and including a preview of the features of the highly anticipated Switch 2. Guess from edge The staff has covered the gamut from GameCube games for Switch Online to a preview for a Wii Mini retro console or perhaps another long-lost console Star Fox Game. Feel free to leave your best guesses in the comments.

Applications are open from Thursday, October 10, 11:00 a.m. ET to Tuesday, October 15, 10:59 a.m. ET. You can apply by clicking on the “Go to application page” link on this page. People from outside Japan will be selected “on a first come, first served basis,” Nintendo says, while participants from Japan will be selected through a raffle “if there are many Japanese applicants.”
