Last week, Sansui introduced a new 4K 120Hz 55-inch OLED TV (S55VOUG), available for between $799 and $899 “depending on retailer promotions.”
That's a pretty steep price considering that a “cheap” OLED typically costs over $1,000 without temporary discounts. Sharp released a Roku TV with similar specs last year for $1,499.99, and LG's B4 hit the market for $1,699. Sansui's TV is more in the budget range of some mini-LEDs like the 55-inch Hisense U7. The television appears to have only been released in the USA so far Which HiFi? Notes.
According to the specifications listed by Micro Center, the Sansui OLED runs Google TV and has gamer-focused features like a variable refresh rate and an automatic low latency mode. It has four HDMI ports, but it doesn't specify which version is supported. Sansui writes that it has two built-in speakers (including a subwoofer!) and supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Then there's Karaoke mode, which Sansui says “removes singing from YouTube videos in real time.” It looks like that includes putting lyrics on screen, at least judging by Sansui's video above. It's a nice bonus that sounds similar to Apple Music Sing on an Apple TV. If the feature doesn't work so well, you still have a cheap OLED, and there are tons of karaoke versions of songs on YouTube.
Sansui writes that you can buy its new 55-inch OLED TV at retailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Micro Center. It's also available at Newegg for $899.99.
