Participating in the Setapp Mobile open beta requires iOS 17.4 or later and an EU-based Apple ID. New EU subscribers can try the platform's $9.99/€9.49 monthly “iOS Advanced” plan for seven days free. This lets users download any iPhone apps they want from both the Setapp Mobile iOS app and Setapp's desktop/web marketplace. However, many of the apps on offer can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store. Users who participated in the previous beta by invitation from other Setapp plans will need to upgrade or lose access on September 17.
The edge We found the actual process of installing apps with Setapp to be cumbersome in our initial hands-on testing, but that's pretty typical for these third-party iOS app platforms. In contrast, the separate Setapp Mobile service should be easier to use, as it allows users to download iOS apps directly from their iPhones without having to jump through any additional hurdles.
