Sony’s Horizon Zero Dawn remaster may cost $20 more than we thought

If you thought you were buying a new copy Horizon Zero Dawn Think about it again. Sony has quietly doubled the price Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition in the PlayStation Store.

While Sony has long sold the game online for $20 – apparently back in 2018 – the company increased that price to $40 on September 25, just a day after announcing the new remastered game. The changes were discovered by GamePittReviews.

While those of us with one available The copy can be upgraded for $10 – whether your copy is disc or digital, PlayStation or PC – new players will have to pay a full $50 for the remastered version, if you want them digitally. Sony isn't exactly trying to hide this: “For new fans, the game can be purchased for $49.99 on the PlayStation Store, Steam or Epic Game Store,” the original blog post states.

You can of course still pay a lot less by tracking down an old CD copy of the game or perhaps a PC key. Sony specifically states that even the original PS4 disc copy of Horizon Zero Dawn will work as long as you leave it in the drive while playing. Assuming you have a PlayStation with a disc drive.

The new remaster promises “stunning new graphics and enhanced features,” and you can see more in the announcement trailer below.
