The Select 4 Go combines a 1.75-inch 5W full-range speaker driver with a passive radiator to boost the intensity of lower frequencies. That's only a slightly smaller speaker than the one in the more expensive Miniroll, which has a battery life of 12 hours. Soundcore says the Select 4 Go offers up to 20 hours of playtime on a full charge with the volume at 40 percent and using the standard EQ mode.
It's waterproof (IPX67) and will even float in the pool, but Soundcore does point out that you should make sure the waterproof cover on the USB-C charging port is firmly in place before using the speaker near water.
Bluetooth range is 100 feet, and two of the Select 4 Go speakers can be paired to create stereo sound. Other Soundcore products, including the even lighter $40.99 Soundcore Mini 3, allow you to pair over 100 speakers and play in sync at the same time. If this feature is important to you, you'll have to spend a little more.
We haven't tested the speaker and can't vouch for its sound quality, but for $24.99, you get what you pay for: a durable wireless speaker that should at least sound better than playing music through your smartphone's speaker.
The Soundcore Select 4 Go is now available in two-tone black or blue, but eventually six different colors will be available, including purple and green.
