Beloved roguelike traumatic-childhood-em-up The Binding Of Issac: Rebirth turned 10 yesterday, and it’s half off on Steam to celebrate. What’s more, maker Edmund McMillen has announced that the foretold online co-op update is due on the 18th of this month, alongside a “considerable” balance update. Consider me considering the considerability of said considerable update!

Typing Of The Dead meets Resident Evil with co-op in Blood Typers, which has a demo you can play now
Typing Of The Dead released in arcades 25 years ago remains a masterpiece – funny, absurd, tense, and novel. I am keen on any game that aims to follow in its footsteps, and there are a few. The latest is Blood Typers, a horror game where you tippity-tap on your keyboard to fight montsters in a spooky mansion, but this isn’t a rail shooter, so you’ll be typing to explore and navigate, too.
It’s now got a release of February 2025, and there’s a demo you can play now.
Ys X: Nordics has set sail on PC, and this time it’s got local co-op from day one
Ys X: Nordics launched in Japan last year to some critical acclaim, and it has now made its way both west and onto PC. The PC version has a bunch of graphical upgrades and keyboard support, but also – unlike predecessor Ys IX: Monstrum Nox which got co-op as a cheeky post-launch bonus on PC – Ys X: Nordics has local co-op from day one.
Windblown, the new co-op hack-and-slasher from Dead Cells’ developers, is out in Early Access now
Windblown looks rad. It’s an action-roguelite for 1-3 players in which you dash-and-slash in rapid combat on floating islands, and I am extremely interested in feeling its game-feel for myself. Good news! I can get my game-feelers on it now because it’s out in Early Access today.
If you watch its launch trailer below out of context however, you might be fooled into thinking it’s actually the emo second half of an Isekai anime series.
The Monster Hunter Wilds PC beta launches this month, with a character editor and co-op multiplayer
The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will launch next week, Capcom have announced. It’ll be live on Steam from 31st October to 3rd November 2024, allowing the more impatient Capcommandoes amongst us to get a taste of the new setting and combat mechanics ahead of the game’s full release in February next year.
