As the name suggests, this familiar form factor has been shrunk to about 4 inches (105 mm) in diameter and 1.9 inches (48 mm) thick, making it easier to fit into pockets or smaller bags. The Miniroll weighs 9.8 ounces (279 g) and still features a built-in strap so it can be attached to things like bags and belt loops. Ultimate Ears also says the speaker is “drop-proof” up to about 47 inches (1.2 meters) and has an IP67 rating against dust and water – meaning it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes.
The Miniroll is rechargeable via USB-C and the company says battery life should last up to 12 hours of playback time. Bluetooth range is up to 40 meters, barring anything else like walls. There's also a “PartyUp” feature that allows multiple Miniroll speakers to be paired together for more volume, but it doesn't support connecting to the company's Boom speakers.
