Ubisoft delays Assassin's Creed Shadow from its planned release on November 15th to February 14th, 2025. After showing 12 minutes of gameplay in June, Ubisoft looked like it would be releasing its next Assassin's Creed The issue was released during the usual holiday season, but now the publisher says it needs more time to complete its new parkour and stealth systems.
“We recognize that we need more time to refine the experience and further advance some of our key features,” says Marc-Alexis Côté, Vice President and Executive Producer of Assassin's Creed at Ubisoft.
Ubisoft says “the lessons learned from the release of Star Wars Outlaws have led us to allocate additional time to further refine the title,” and that the company is also changing its traditional season pass model. “All players will be able to enjoy the game at the same time on February 14, and those who pre-order the game will receive the first expansion for free,” Ubisoft says.
Assassin's Creed Shadow will also be available on Steam on day one, marking the return of Ubisoft's new releases to Valve's store.
Assassin's Creed Shadow will now be released just a few days before Obsidian’s next RPG, Confessorsstarts on February 18. Microsoft announced the Confessors The delay was announced last month with the reasoning being that the aim was to “give players some breathing room”.
The delay comes just one day after Sucker Punch released a first look at Spirit of Yoteiwhose publication is planned for 2025. Assassin's Creed Shadow is set in Japan and is the latest installment in the series to feature two protagonists. Players can choose between the samurai Yasuke and the shinobi assassin Naoe. Shadow will be released on February 14th on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Ubisoft also confirmed earlier this year that Shadow will also be available for macOS in the future.
