Ubisoft is addressing rumors that Tencent is exploring a takeover of the French game maker – even if that doesn't say much at the moment. In a statement on Monday, Ubisoft said it “regularly reviews all of its strategic options in the interests of its stakeholders and will inform the market as appropriate.”
One of the options Ubisoft is considering is to privatize the company Bloomberg. Tencent, which currently owns about 10 percent of Ubisoft, also owns 49.9 percent of Guillemot Brothers Ltd. Ubisoft says it is currently focused on open-world and live-service games.
