X now makes your posts visible to users who have blocked you. In a response on Monday, X owner Elon Musk said the “blocking feature prevents this account from engaging with public posts but not being able to see them.”
Currently, X displays a “You are blocked” message when you try to view the profile of someone who has blocked you. Not only does it block all posts, but it also prevents you from seeing their replies, media, followers, and subscriber list.
A source at X said The edge that the platform is making this change because users can already view posts from users they have blocked when they are using a different account or are logged out. Some of us at The edge (myself included) have noticed that X actually prevents you from viewing another person's profile when you are logged out.
While X's block button will still prevent anyone from interacting with a person's posts, they will still be able to see them, potentially making it easier for criminals to continue harassing their victims.
