Qi2 chargers are common these days and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. So why not make one exclusively for Europeans with sockets above the kitchen countertop and a decent selection of olive oils?
Zens may have figured out the key to a truly wireless wireless charger with its new wireless charging adapter. It's very similar to most Qi2/MagSafe chargers and can charge an iPhone at up to 15W, but it skips the usual cable between the socket and the magnetic pad and simply plugs directly into the wall.
The $49.99 charger seems a little limiting if you don't have the ideal outlet placement (and want the least risk of a fall if you only have butterfingers), but it's also in limited supply, as it only comes with EU plugs – at least for now. Zens may not be the first to make a charger like this, but a quick search provides just a few examples of no-name brands that don't charge as quickly.
The Netherlands-based company doesn't often shy away from developing unique and purpose-built charging solutions, so it's not particularly surprising that it's testing the possibilities for such a quirky charger. And the wireless charging adapter is not pure Wireless, as it also offers a wired USB-C port for charging a second device – making it a very different take on the typical 2-in-1 device.
